½ tsp cumin
2-3 cloves

Preparation
Start by marinating shrimps with black pepper powder, salt, ginger-garlic paste. Add the spices like turmeric powder, red chili powder, and coriander powder. Let it rest for 15-20 minutes.
Now take a pot and pour some oil and let it heat. Add cumin, cloves and curry leaves together and give them a minute to turn crisp and aromatic. Then, add chopped green chilies and onions and sauté on medium flame until the onions turn brown. Add tomato puree at this stage, stir well and cook for 2-3 minutes.
Add marinated shrimps and cook them on low flame for 4-5 minutes. Add grated coconut or coconut milk in shrimps with a cup of water and some salt. Simmer it on low flame until the shrimps are nearly cooked.
The shrimp curry is ready. Garnish the curry with freshly chopped coriander leaves and serve it in a bowl with hot rice.
